Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Well i told my sister I wanted to work with my lighting kit a couple weeks ago, and she told me she wanted some pictures of her 2 month old baby. I figured why not. I think I got some good pictures, not the best but I was happy with the results at this stage in my photographic journey. I wish I had shot in raw, but thats something I am just starting to experiment with.

Anyways, feel free to critique... I am always looking to improve my photos. They are edited in elements, mainly smoothing out the wrinkles in the background (bed sheet, all I have)

And yes I did accept payment for my work.... One large coffee!! I think I at least earned that..

I realize I have some focus issues to deal with. I used a tripod (cheap walmart one). Also after reading some threads and my manual a little more, realized the VR should have been turned off.

All help is appreciated.

I think they are good!
but yeah...coulda used some more focus, especially in the b/w.
but overall I like them!
looks like my kid when he was a baby :)

Baby! How can baby pics not look good? : )

I must say that the ones with the stuffed animals just looked too posed and the animals took away from the focus on the baby and the sweetness of the scene. I could almost picture you placing them there and trying to get them to stay and it made my mind wonder to the work behind the shot, rather than the shot itself. #3 in particular is adorable, but those darn stuffed animals just distract. #4 is my favorite, though slightly soft. #2 on the other hand could be softened a little bit.

Overall, though, good job and cute baby. A friend of mine is having a baby in February and I can't wait to harass her to let me do a photo shoot with the little bugger!

I agree with Leftyplayer about the stuffed animals looking posed. #2 on the top left and right my eyes are kind of drawn to those spots since they are darker than the rest of the photo.

But yes, I think you did earn a coffee :) We all have to start somewhere and I bet your sister is pleased!

What kit do you have? I have a baby I want to photograph too, but have no idea where to start. I have a great camera, and that is all!

These are cute shots. The focus is not so bad that it cannot be resolved with some post processing. I think the colour cast needs to be corrected as well. To show you what I mean, here is the pic with blue added to make it cooler. Sharpening has also been done and a reduction in orange for off skin tones. If you were looking for a warmer pic, then disregard my comments.
