First Portrait Shoot C+C Please!

This is my first time taking portraits! Doing it as a favor for a friend who can't pay for professional photos.
Also he wanted it black and white.

Uhm....not a flattering portrait, it makes his head look too large. Why is he looking out of the frame? It makes me want to know what's over there! Back up, Zoom in and have him looking into the frame are my suggestions.

1. This is the photo he wanted, he is a very bizarre guy.
2. His head is actually that big.
3. Its uncropped/unedited


This one is cropped and edited slightly. As im typing this im noticing the little black corner on the top right
which ill make sure to get rid of.

Reminds me of Lurch, from The Addams Family.

"You rang?"

His tightly pursed lips, sideways head angle, and heavy eye cut (with all that white of the eye showing) all combine to make a very unappealing look in this photo of this young man.
