I like these! A couple are slightly angled but easy peasy fix there imo. I am sure he's happy with the untraditional senior shots.

Surprisingly, he didn't complain once during the shoot and really loved how all the untraditional ones came out

Which little things need fixing? Talking about the 'tilt' or other issues?

#4 is my personal favorite, I light the blue, the pose, background, everything

I enjoy your creative use of flash behind him in image one...I think it created an awesome effect in the image. There's not much of his face for me in #1...but I liked your creativity.

My favorite is 4. Love how you highlighted and directed the light onto him (using remote strobes too!!). It makes him the strong center of the visual story. The blue color is gorgeous and artistic...and it really resonates with me.

Id say you had maybe try out a few more of these senior type sessions...seems like you have some very nice creative and technical skills. You're producing some very nice images...with a little more practice you might get a real nice style going.

#1 is fairly nice, but could be much better if we could see his face.
#2 not the best. Not enough contrast between his trousers and the background, and there is an annoying glare to the right.
#3 pretty good, but static. and that same annoying glare.
#4 very nice. Would be better if cropped 2/3 from the left. Crop at the pink wall out, lower your watermark to the bottom, and you'll have it.

Thank you for your response. I figured a lot of people would point out the lack of face showing, further down in the thread on page 1, I posted one of him looking forward and smiling.

I love those blue doors too! It's a Children's Museum in downtown New Orleans and the only "warehouse" with colorful doors like that.

I appreciate the comment about my style and technical skills, but this is merely a hobby for me. I don't think it's a business I'd like to go into. I'll do little things here and there when asked, but don't think I'm ready to put myself OUT there, ya know?

1. Look down further on page 1, I posted a face/smile picture of same pose
2. The arms out pose was more or less a "fun" pose for him to keep him interested in the shoot still lol. I agree with the pants/background shadows, although I didn't see it until you mentioned it, thank you.
4. I shot the image with the empty space to the right of the subject due to the way he was facing and I thought it added to the image. It's nice to see a different perspective though, so thanks for that. The watermark is usually on the bottom right of most of my images, but when I exported it out of lightroom, I did a mass grouping and didn't specify where it should have been. I only put the WM on there for facebook though because I like my logo haha.

In regards to the flare, it was done on purpose b/c I was going for that sort of style/grunge/magazine look. I know it might not be for everyone, but I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from it, which has surprised me. I figured the majority would have been like you and disliked it.

I can sense that this is a hobby for you...so yes...dont leave your day job yet! But, DO keep on going with this kind of activity whenever you can. You seem to have a germ of visual and technical creativity that is very attractive. Studying tips on how to direct people in posing, identifying what elements good poses are made up of, and studying the online picture galleries of other good photogs in this area would be a great new casual past-time for you. Both you and your subjects would benefit from your developing poise and confidence in setting up effective poses. Some study of "groom poses" in public on-line wedding portfolios can give you some great ideas on how to make your subjects come to life in the images. Make a paper or on-line collection of great poses and positions...so you and your model can look at them before or during the shoot...and then both of you will know how to position yourself just right. Good luck...Do make this more than a hobby someday!!

His legs look disproportionately small in #2. #1 is nice, but you can’t really see him. For senior pictures being able to see the persons face seems important. #4 is the best. He looks relaxed, has a good smile, and it has style.

lol, they do. The way his jacket/sweater rode up when he put his arms up, paired with uber-skinny jeans looks like that. Was a spur of the moment pose he did, on his own, I just captured it. If it were a serious shot that his mom would have wanted, I would have revisited and fixed that issue.

I'm just gonna add the one with his face to the original, no one seems to see it lol.
