Fishtography

Going on a fishing trip, leaving tomorrow. Are there any good methods of getting shots of fish? I imagine a fish jumping out of the water due to some skewed fish logic, and getting a nice shot. Or is Fish photography even a thing...?

Well, since they don't all jump out of the water...you have to catch them most times... Good Luck with your fishing and photos, I hope you get a bunch!

If you want to catch fish in their natural habitat, good luck with that. Patience and timing, my friend, patience and timing. What fish are you wanting to photograph? If it's trout, you probably shouldn't hope for much. Most often when they "jump" then just nip a bug that's on the surface. Fresh water or salt water fish?

Where ya going fishing Tevo? Shooting is going to depend on location and speciaes targeted. If there's one thing I know...it's fishing (salt water)

what sort of fishing? Flies? baits? If you're fly fishing, get some pics of the tight loops you're casting. Those shots can be nice.

Baits. Hopefully I'll get some good landscapes.. I don't forsee much luck with fish haha but I'll try!

Yah...the Marlin were not jumping. Can't complain though. :thumbup:

Rather fish Wahoo than Marlin any day, taste better and easier to carry to the buyers . Nice size fish there too.
