Rather fish Wahoo than Marlin any day, taste better and easier to carry to the buyers . Nice size fish there too.

I booked this charter for a day while in Bermuda.... Bermuda is catch and release.... Until you get on board when the Captain tells you its only release for some fish. We fished like we have never fished before....we do have a boat and we do fish here in NJ, but not like this. We caught beautiful orange Nemo's on a line with three hooks and bait. I pulled the Nemo's in by hand...it may as well have been with line and a safety pin on it... It was a hoot. Then we went to catch the baitfish. Again, line on a spool that I kept in my shorts pocket. Fishing for baitfish by hand. Once all the bait was in the well, we went fishing!

We lost so many tuna and so many wahoo it wasn't funny. They like to eat through the line...

We paid $1,500 for my hubby and two daughters plus tips to fish...the catch was good for us...better for the Captain who then sells our catch to the local restaurnts in Bermuda for extra dough.

I did nothing more than pay to be a hired hand that day...but what a day it was! Blackfin, Amberjack, Wahoo, Nemos, Shark, and Barracuda all around. And look at the color of the water and the atmosphere....OMG!

Took movies with my 7D. Loved it.

GeorgieGirl, I know the routine, I ran fishing charters for a long long time

Your $1500 goes to boat maintenance the fish go to the skipper We'd do the same thing except we didn't lose fish

New Jersey is NOT 'catch and release'. Unless the fish are undersized or the limit has been hit... Charter or not.

certain species are C&R by international and or US regulations. Marlin are C&R with some exception....or they were when I was fishing. It's been a while Marlin meat.......not so good anyhow, unless you smoke it.

Marlin are here too with license under Fed Law...and we hold license to fish under new rules. We fish in Sandy Hook area on a single screw so we don't fish Marlin day-to-day for our pleasure that far out on Atlanic Shelf... I'll throw an anchor and crab all day with a good book in 20 feet. LOL.
