Flash and metering

Thanks Tim. Didn't know it actually shot 2 preflashes.

To add.. things get complicated when you add off camera flash (via radio trigger) into the equation. The flash metering does not take the account of the extra flash. This is when manual flash comes in handy. You can also trigger the off camera flash optically using the master and slave mode on your flash unit. It will meter the flash output trough the lens with both flash units. However, if you put the other flash anywhere in your frame, the metering will be way off. So for wedding work with multiple flash units, all manual is the way to go.

I just got a speedlite as well. I took this test shot, the rock is the subject. Was trying for the rock to be exposed and the background to be darker. I already have a diffuser, but just bought a bounce card today. This was simply a TEST shot. Also here is a great video I saw somewhere on here.
