Flash (D20) Indoor action

Hey all. I am in need of help, and my slow buttox waited till the last min to think of you all for help. I know smack me with a spoon. Anyways. I am going to be doing so photo work for my flower at a Karate tournament. Tjhis will as you can see, be indoor, with high ceiling, and as such the light source will be a little shabby. What kind of external flash would you recomend for this. I will be able to be on the matt, or extremely close, so farthest distance should be within 25 feet. (25 would be the out most max distance).
Please help. I need to buy this flash today...

Canon 550EX. The 580EX has a few extra features but nothing that most people will ever use, and you'll be close enough to not need the small amount of extra power, so don't waste money getting that over the 550.
