How come I can't get into my built-in flash settings? It keeps saying that the external flash is attached, even though its not.

I want to use my built-in flash as the master and my 580ex II as the slave. But the built-in flash won't work in any mode and it won't open using the button.

What am I doing wrong?

I can't find any answers in either of my manuals to remedy this problem.

So if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

I'm using a Canon 60D.

There is a pin under the tensioner in the hot shoe that tells the camera when an external flash is mounted on the hot shoe.

The pin on your hot shoe is stuck in the down position. It's a very common Canon problem.

Thanks for posting the video! I never had this problem, but it is good to know if it ever should happen :)

Thanks for posting the video!

I got it fixed! Guess how?

I accidently knocked my camera off of my desk and it landed on my girlfriends foot. Problem solved. :D!!! It must have been the pin!
