Flower Girl Envy

I'm looking at the image from my work-laptop so don't listen to me, we'll hear someone else too.

it seems to contrasty and too dark for the "girl, girls and a bride happy" image

The image is about the little girl, not the bride. The bride and flower girls are out of focus, small depth of field at 2.8

ok, I do get that and I really like this image... I like the way you shot this

however my opinion (just mine, others will disagree) is that the image seem (to me) too contrasty and dark.

sorry, but I wrote what I think

I appreciate your opinion and understand your concern, I had the same concern myself at first. The main subject (the little girl) is well lit and pretty sharp. The BG is a little dark, but it is so it would not draw attention away from the main subject.

I like the image, but I'm not sure the treatment is ideal.

The reason it is BW is because the image was VERY orange from the orange-ish wood floors to ambient lights with orange fixtures.

ok. I'll say just one more thing.

look at that completely black dude on the left. I only see him because he is completely black without any kind of details, doesn't blend in the background, so my eyes are drawn to him. That's way I said it's too contrasty

I'll repeat, it's jmho

I agree that the image is dark, but the image is cute just the same and I think it may have been more of a "just for fun" shot, rather than part of the wedding package.....? Just my two cents.

The problem here is that the part of the photograph that you want to be the main focus of the image doesn't carry the most visual weight.

The bride has a nice expression on her face, is at the top of the frame, and is much larger in the frame. These things draw the viewer's eye to the bride, not the flower girl.

Super shot...I love images like this. Simple..but tells a huge story...conveys a lot of emotion with simple elements...very very cool shot
