flower shot - straigh from cam, need help with post processing also..

I am very pleased with this image however I don't know what post processing would be helpful to make the most of it. Any ideas would be great thanks!! I have the RAW file still, this is just the Jpg conversion. What do you think of it overall also? thanks!!

This picture could use some sharpening (absolutely typical of pix direct from the camera and an entire topic in itself) and also some additional brightness and contrast.

Looking at the histogram (see below) you can see that much of the pixels are towards the lower range. This implies that the image is slightly underexposed.

I also cropped off the bottom because when the poppy behind the flower became brighter it became very distracting from the image as a whole. Hope this is a reasonable attempt. Thanks for looking.

I think that this is an improvement but I am puzzled by something that you may be able to clear up. The poppy itself looks oof or blurred, yet the stalks in front of and behind show the fine hairs.

Is it possible that there as a slight breeze that moved the poppy alone?

I guess there could have been or I could be missing something fundamental (like a brain... no no I mean PS wise) thanks for your help anyways! :hug:: I'll keep the image though because I still like it even if its not perfect.

thanks! it was manually focused. I obviously was off somewhere, or the wind caught the poppy. I still like it but next time that poppy head will be pin sharp!

I would use an oil painting effect on this image (photoshop or ?)I think it would look amazing.
