This is generally a pretty good flower shot. The G11 does close-ups very nicely. I have one and enjoy using it. Unfortunately, the extreme wide-angle lens on the G11 provides too much depth of field for some situations. Here, the plants in the background are distracting and it would have been better to have them more out of focus. It would also help to leave more room to the right and top of the flower, since it is sort of "pointed" in that direction and to have less room behind it. Centering a flower in the frame usually is not the best composition.
