Flying Camera

I'm planning to go to Indonesia during the Christmas and I watched many videos filming beaches and islands above grounds. Some of my friends said it is from a flying camera or camera on drone. Any experts here can recommend some reliable drone with camera?

Hi luis - the least expensive way to get smooth airborne video is with a $479 DJI Phantom, a $388 Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal and a $400 Hero 3+ Black camera.

The video was fantastic. I did a bit homework on this DJI brand. Found this model caught my interest and even cost less than you proposed. Only cost $1199 all-in-one.

I saw this Phantom 2 + Gimbal combo. Is that worth to wait? What's the difference?

If you don't need it before Christmas for your trip to Indonesia, it would be worth the wait - if only to get an upgraded Phantom and the gimbal in one box, ready to fly.

If you need it before Christmas, you should order the $479 Phantom, $388 gimbal and $400 Hero 3+ Black (all still on sale but, sadly, the camera is now backordered at Amazon and B&H, so you may have to pay $420 to get it on eBay), put the system together and get some practice using it before you leave.

2nd thought, probably will wait for Phantom 2, it looks like it's installation of the Gimbal is much simplier than before and it is more upgradable to have FPV function with Phantom. The battery capacity is even better than Phantom 1.
Worthwhile to wait.

Hi Luis - looks like the Phantom 2 Vision with an integrated 1080p camera is available now for $1199.

Without the camera (but with the $388 Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal already integrated and included), the Phantom 2 is $869.

You were right - it was worth the wait!

Coming from an extensive R/C background, I strongly suggest allowing quite a bit of time to learn to fly one of these first. I've been flying all types of aircraft for about 14 years and these prove to be a bit tricky. Maybe go to your local hobby shop to start.
