flyover at the Indy 500

Would have been a bit nicer to see them coming at you instead of going away.

Gotta have a lot of respect for the P 51's.

Would have loved to get them coming towards me but where my seats are it would have been very hard to do

Agree! ^^ However, bonus points for shooting the A10! The world's all-time, coolest aircraft!

Agreed. it is an excellent aircraft unless you are on the business end of it. Then again the same could be said for the c-130 Spooky. They are both devastating attack aircraft.

Then you ought to love This ;)

Anyhow, yeah, I have seen them come over my head at nearly zero feet. I used to work around Ft. Campbell, KY back in the 70's and the A-10's would sometimes come and play ground support with the Army guys. There is NOTHING like the sound of that Avenger cannon firing!

I saw the flyover on TV before the race and thought it was pretty cool. A pair of Mustangs, a Falcon, and a Warthog are a pretty eclectic mix of airplanes.

A Warthog (Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II)? A sub-sonic, ugly duckling, Warthog? No doubt, the A-10 was a unique looking aircraft, had an interesting close air support mission and some interesting armamanent (30 mm cannon @ 60 rounds per second), but "The world's all-time, coolest aircraft!"? My vote for "The world's all-time, coolest aircraft!" so far, is the North American Aviation XB-70 Valkyrie.

I used to live in Tucson, home of Davis Monthan AFB and at that time DMAFB had a couple of A-10 wings, so I usually saw several A-10's daily.

Do you remember when a Warthog pilot inexplicably veered away from a training flight to a bombing range in south western Arizona, and flew north so he could crash his A-10 into a mountain up near Flagstaff? Craig D. Button - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's a very impressive model. Obviously a labor of love. Unfortunately I have not heard the avenger fire but I'll bet it is pretty incredible. The Delaware Air National Guard flies out of an airport near me and they had an airshow a few years back with a flyover of F22, a F86, a P51 and an A10. Of course my wife took the shot and it was like 4 dots in the sky. Very frustrating.

Yeah I have to give props to the Valkyrie but you lose points for the F-104 that got sucked into the wake vortex of the right wing. Still I have to agree that the XB-70 was an awesome plane. I really want to go see the remaining plane at the air force museum in Ohio.
