Long story short, we were surprised with a notice to leave our long term rental. We decided to buy, and our price range got us a nice little house badly in need of an interior face lift.

Then, escrow was delayed, and we ended up with the keys 5 days before we had to move in. With the help of some family and friends, throughout the entire house, we scraped popcorn ceiling, textured and painted the ceiling and all the walls, tore out all the carpet, prepped the floors and put in hardwood and tile, and moved in!

A few weeks later and we are just starting to make it feel like home. I finally had my first prints made, too.

Still living out of boxes, but finally got all my photo stuff organized so I can start shooting again :)

Nice! Is that wood look porcelain tile or real wood? Asking because I'm about to select tile for our garage reno and we're going with the radiant heat and wood look porcelain tile.

Congrats on the new digs! I notice you have an elephant motif going on there. :)

Porcelain tile? In a garage?????? What happens when you drop a tool, or your floor-jack slips????

Thank you! We went with engineered hardwood for easy install over the entire house. Wood look tile with radiant heat is an excellent choice for making a garage into a living space IMO

Thanks, yes! My wife has a thing for elephants. There's hundreds in my house... uhm...happy wife, happy life.

Very nice! Nothing better than pre-enjoyed carpet! *Gag*

Thank you. Oh man, the carpet was so gross. Pulling it out was a nasty job I'm so glad to be done with.

Sarcasm I think? It won't be a garage anymore. It will be a master suite.
