Freezing in Michigan

Hi Everyone! I've just come to this forum today and I'm interested in what everyone has to share. I'm a hobbyist, shooting with an upper end point and shoot FujiS5700. I don't know the ins and outs of the camera but I'm working on it. I know nothing to very little about white balance and depth of field and iso and aperture, so I'll be first to admit, I usually shoot in auto mode. I think my favored choice of photography is landscape, especially of unique old barns, dilapidated abandoned homes, antique junk automobiles/farm equipment and such. I also love the changes in seasons.

I'm a wife of 1, mom of 3, (along with 2 daughters-in-law and 1 son-in-law) and grandma of 2. My 49 year old husband of 21 years had a stroke 2 years ago and now resides in a local nursing home. When my youngest daughter married at age 19 last July, I found myself alone in the house and needing something to do. Something for myself. I began to go "backroad bumblin', which means grab my camera, a GPS, and preferably a friend/driver and take to the back roads looking for something new to photograph.

I hope to meet some new, fun, informative friends on here and share some of my finds with bits of constructive criticism and hopefully some praise.

I'm a little confused with this forum. When will I be able to post attachments and receive some critique on my work? Anyone?

Welcome! So sorry to hear about your husband. : ( There is a lot of good info here and good ppl. Cant wait to see some of your shots.

Thank you Trish. You're the only person who has responded to any of my replies. I was JUST about to cancel my registration. I don't know why my posting info says I can't do any attachments to my posts. I'm eager to share as well. I don't know why I can't.

Welcome, you don't really attach to the post you insert a link to a photo which you host on a site like Flicker or Smugmug. Click on the icon at the top that says "insert image" and paste the url to the image you want to show. Here is a tutorial on what to do.
