Nice! Good conversion, nice composition... the ONLY [very] small nit I can find, it that maybe just a little more light on the LH side of Dad's head might not have hurt.

Hmmm.. I feel like my eyes were all over the place trying to figure out what I was looking at, which I'm assuming the primary focus is on that super cute little baby in the perfect little newborn pose with mom being secondary and the back of dad's head being last. I would edit out dad and maybe bring the brightness down on mom's face a little...

I tried to play with it real quick, but I still don't know. But I like it better without the back of dad's head.

I wouls suggest cropping out dad's ear out of the frame, and cropping a little tighter for increasing the focus on the baby as well. Here is a suggestion, as an example

Love Bing's crop. I think it is a stronger comp. I found my eyes initially wandering and bouncing back and forth too.

Rebekah, yours may be a good crop but it takes dad out of the picture emotionally as well as physically and thus diminishes the result, IMHO.

Yes I do not want to crop out dad.....the family of it is gone then for me and that was my intention....but that said Bing's crop is AWESOME!

I like Bings crop best too! I was thinking about that too, but wasn't sure I'd like half a head.. lol But I do like it better.

I think it looks somewhat black and gray more than B&W, maybe it could use a little adjustment.

I know this type pose is popular and can look cute in a picture but I don't know that it's the best position for a newborn. I've worked as an EI Specialist so I'm probably more conscious of this but I'd go with something that supports the head and neck appropriately for a newborn. Obviously the dad's holding the baby and mom is right there but I don't think it's the best idea to have a newborn propped up on the arms til the neck control develops. I've seen baby photography online that's much more of a concern than this with ways that babies get positioned for photo shoots but I think more natural poses can be sweet in photos.

Please be rest assured that I have taken a mentoring newborn class and all newborn necessities are taken into consideration(take notice to babies head cupped right up beside dads ear, and moms hand is directly on her neck at the back, plus her lips are pressing up against the other cheek).....not all final images are exactly sooc thanks so much for your concern though
