Full frame or DX

I had gotten a used Tamron lens and trying to figure out if it's a full frame or DX lens. I believe it's an AF-D series lens with the physical aperture ring. There is no Di or Di II label on it designating whether it's full frame or crop sensor

Yeah, that looks like it. My next question is being it's "film era" 35mm it would be like a full frame on digital? or would it be smaller?

The full frame digital sensor will be about the same size as the 35mm format.

Based on the zoom range of 28-80mm, I will assume the lens is a standard zoom lens for Full Frame / 35mm film format.
Based on the how the zoom ring looks, I will say it is for the film camera. There is no Di nor Di II notation most likely because it was made before digital cropped sensor camera available (or any digital DSLR )

Sorry, I thought you knew 35mm film format was equivalent to "full frame" digital

AGREED.

It should work with autofocus on Nikon FX or Nikon DX bodies that have an in-body focusing motor. It is a pre-d-SLR era lens.

And will work with manual focus on those bodies without the AF motor. Some older lenses may not meter in the entry-level bodies, but will work otherwise.
