Future Farmer

I have a close family friend who has about 450 acres of farmland in Mississippi, where he grows soy. When visiting I sat my daughter in the field and shot away. Unfortunately, I left my flash behind, so I had to use the pop-up flash for fill light.

1. This one is probably my favorite, but mostly because it was before it got too dark and I was still able to shoot without the flash. I wish the sky was a little more interesting, but oh well. Perhaps cropping a little closer to the top of her head would help.

2. I like the pose for this one much better, but I had to use the flash, and the amount of light in the foreground is bugging me. I tried to tone it down in photoshop.

Number 1 - The pose and the look on her face couldn't be better. Not sure about cropping, I like it the way it is.

Number 2 - Lighting difficulties aside (I have plenty of those problems myself) the concept is great, love the idea but the look on her face doesn't come up to number 1's standard imho.

You have a marvellous model there, I'd hang on to her if I were you.
