Another shot done in the studio with my friend's son. I don't have much time lately to edit entire TF sets lately, hence why I've been making new posts any time I finish a photo from one of his shoots.

I like to add a solid layer of dark brown set to soft light blending mode with a reduced opacity over my black and white portraits. I feel that it adds some richness and a little bit of "life" to the shot.

Very nice. I like how the dark side of his face falls to complete shadow but we can still see the outline of his head. I wouldn' have been able to pick out that you layered in a brown tone without you telling me, but I agree it does add a warmth to the B&W. I like the effect!

Thank you. The deep shadows are a favorite detail of mine as well.
 
That brown really adds something ... better than sepia but slightly similar. I appreciate you sharing tips like this. :)
