Been busy busy the past couple of weeks and then was hibernating during the heatwave with a stack of books and a bag of snacks! But temps are back to normal and we had a few inches of rain last night so the garden is thriving!

Got this metal dressmaker’s dummy for super cheap on marketplace because the stand was wobbly. It’s so cute though! Just transplanted the skirt so it’s a bit droopy but I love it!

I hope all our TPF gardeners are enjoying the season! Dig on!

LOVE the dressmaker's form.

It got hot again but cools off at night. I bought tools - lopper, anvil pruner, bypass pruner and grass shears, and a kneeling pad for these old knees. I'll play tomorrow, maybe.

I did a quick look around the creek bushes, the other day. Looks like a nice crop of blackberries coming through, and two of the Irises that MLW's boss gave her are wp, but no blooms. Beside the house we have what seems to be a sweet crabapple and there is a black raspberry at the base of it. There is some fruit on it.

I love this dressmaker's repurpose! What a great idea, it looks fabulous - love how the flowers are hanging around the skirt. Brilliant!

Ugh, glad you made it through your area's heatwave. The garden looks no worse for wear. My bee balm is already spent, so it's nice to see yours in bloom.

Everything looking good!

I've had a couple of Monarch chrysalises, and just released them over the weekend. We lost power for 3 days so I didn't use the phone as much to document like I usually do.

First time I've had two at once - sorry for the dark picture - that lack of power thing.

Released both safely and I caught a quick shot about 2 hours later - no proof it's one of them but I prefer to think it is. ;)

Here's hoping you get some of that wild fruit! Yum!

@terri if you cut back that bee balm to the next node it will branch and bloom again x2. Smaller blooms but still worth the time.

I did snip off all the expired blooms, but didn't take a close look - I'll do this to try and eke out some more. Thanks!!

Mine had terrible powdery mildew last year - not as bad this year but still some spotty areas. Since I dead headed, I've hit them a couple times with Neem oil. Hopefully that helps.

The red Jacob Cline bee balm is very resistant to powdery mildew. The others, not so much…
