The hibiscus is going crazy. There are about a dozen buds, a couple should be out tomorrow. I don't think it has bloomed like this since we got it (a couple years ago).

First dahlia bloom of the season. Wine Eyed Jill. And yes, I did get her just because she has a cool name.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Princess begged me to buy this tricolor hibiscus. I didn’t want to because I don’t have room to bring any more large plants inside for the winter but she promised it can live in her room in the off season. Glad I gave in because it is stunning! All 3 colors blooming at once today after the rain.

I've missed the usual visits from the Eastern Tiger Swallowtails this year! I've spied a couple of them from a distance, but nothing like I had last year.

@SquarePeg: Lovely shot!

Meanwhile, the Joe Pye Weed is almost ready to pop. It's amusing to watch the bees circling around, waiting to pounce. It's a pollinator magnet.

The blooms are still too tight.

I've had more Monarch action this year than before.

Chrysalises from this season so far (and a Robin's eggshell):

I currently have 5 more Black Swallowtail cats on 2 parsley plants in the cage, so there's more on the way.

That's fine - the birds can have some. We are considering getting cuttings (or try growing seeds) and plant more to help crown out invasives.

Google lens says it is Viburnum.

That rose is a gorgeous color. Do you know the name?
