general beginner cameras?

Im a noobie with 0 knowledge and these questions are very basic.

What are a few cameras that are good for product shoots and video shoots. Are there any differences between mirror less and slr in quality? What are specs to look for? In general what is the most common lens for general use and is there one lens that does everything or do pros use multiple lenses.

Has to be easy to use for a beginner, I rather have one thats small and compact and has good video capabilities. I was thinking of the rx100 mk3 because it looks really simple to use and is compact. When I'm ready to upgrade it can still be usable as a secondary. What are the set backs from using the small lenses like the rx100 mk3 has.

d7100 is another I keep seeing recommended anything in that price point you can recommend?

Cost, brand, sensor size, sensor resolution, high-ISO capability, video frame-rate & quality... In general what is the most common lens for general use and is there one lens that does everything or do pros use multiple lenses. Most DSLR users have multiple lenses for different conditions; not doing so defeats the point of a DSLR. On the other hand, most also have a "regular" lens, generally a 24-70mm zoom, (or equivalent) for an FF body.

If you're not doing this commercially, the difference may be moot, and you will be fine with the P&S.

around 600- 1k I'm willing to spend, lenses included in price. I did more research and the sony a6000 is a great alternative to the canon 5d mk3 at 600 dollars, according to some professional photographers.

Is the a6000 a "decent" enough camera to do small short videos like advertisements that are meant to go on vimeo or youtube without looking unprofessional disregarding my skill level. For curiosity sake what type of cameras do outdoor news videographers use and what type of cameras do they use for movie production? I also hear something about an older version of film (beta max i think) that is a better yet not used any more. Any clue why?

I am sorry did you compare the 5D III and a6000 ?
How can you compare this FF beast with the very nice and capable a6000
Apples and oranges my friend.
First the lens selection between Sony and Canon is a No Comparison and that will tilt the scales to Canon right there.
Low light performance will tilt the scale to Canon even more.
First and most important no matter how good the camera is your skills will be the determining factor of how good your video or pictures will come out.
Dont expect to buy a good camera and get good results, you need to really know how to use the tool, the better the tool is the harder and more complex it will be to get better results.

I would choose the Canon 5D III over the Sony a6000 any day of the week but that doesnt mean the a6000 is a bad camera, not at all it s a very good camera.
Is the a6000 good enough for you, it probably is, actually I have afeeling it will be an over kill for you but if you plan on advancing and getting more serious you might want to get a Nikon or Canon for the huge lens selection they offer as Sony's current lenses selection isnt too impressive.
Panasonic and Olympus has their own good MFT cameras.
You really need to focus and do some homework before you even toy with the thought of what to get.
Comparing the a6000 with the 5D III is comparing a Toyota Corolla to a Mercedes E500, both good but very different even though they will both take you from A ot B

I had the same impression about the two cameras and don't know enough to critically analyze myself. What specs are better on the 5d mkiii compared to a6000 or a7r? Especially for the 2.4k price increase and 1k increase of the a7r.

Jason lancer says its better in real world testing and in specs. Sounds legit..
