Getting a new camera

Hi!
So all my family and my fiance are pitching in to get me a new camera for christmas this year as I'm currently using a canon 1000D. I want to stick with canon and was looking at the 80D. Any suggestions or does that sound good? I've been taking photos for about 5 months and I shoot completely manual 90% of the time. everything helps!

The 80D is a good camera with an updated sensor. It's currently one of the best in canons crop sensor range , what will you be looking to take pictures of?

Thanks for the input ! I will be looking to take photos of landscapes, portraits and dabble in some street photography . (and most likely some sports stuff.)

Yeah, it should be able to do all of those though you'll probably want to pair it with a fast lens for sports and you'll definatley want a fast lens for indoor sports.

Canon D80 is a very good camera, I think the best APS-C camera in Canon line up, get it with its kit lens and maybe add a 50mm 1.8 prime

the newer mirrorless Canon M5 looks interesting for street photography
