No longer a newbie, moving up!
Ok so i got fed up with Winblows and installed Ubunto Studio 8.10. Finally just managed to get my screen resolution up to a decent size (1600x1200). Can't get my graphics tablet working properly but I can't be bothered trying to fix it tonight.
Anyway, I've got GIMP in all ok. Installed UFRaw and it all seems to work fine.
Any good apps/plugins/filters/essential goodies I can download? Just general stuff to help out 'us' photographers get on a little better and not regret ditching Photoshop?
