Hi all,

My name is Doss and I am a recent entrant into the world of dSLR, having received a Nikon D40 for Father's Day.

I have some background in photography - my grandfather owned an aerial photography business for 15 years and I spent a good bit of time in the darkroom. But, that was 10 years ago, so I guess I am really starting new to photography for all intents and purposes.

I'm a father of two beautiful children (a boy, Nathan, 21 months old and a girl, Emily, 5 months old) - I'm sure no one will be surprised that most of the pictures I take are of them.

I am a computer science and business teacher at a local community college. As a computer person, the lure of the digital darkroom is great and I hope to learn to be good at post-processing the images - even for an amateur.

I imagine that's enough about me for now. Glad to be here - hope to learn a lot and maybe be of some assistance to others some day!
