I'm kinda wishing that I could start today instead of waiting until spring semester, that gives me way too much time to chicken out or convince myself that I'm as nuts as I think I am lol

I've taken quite a few online courses (I mean, not just the YouTube and lynda.com stuff--actual university classes online) and I really love doing it, but then I love to study. Weird, I know. If I could have found someone to support my habit, I would have been a career student.

I've got friends my age who have gone back to school. REAL World School. One went back at about age 48 to get her degree in education and now teaches middle school, the other went back to school and got some kind of degree in Ultrasound technology. I keep toying with the idea myself, but I'd have to have more time to commit to it than I've got right now.

I know you'll do well, because you're motivated! Just take REALLY good notes, and then pass them on to me, please...

Thanks Sharon! That is encouraging! I wasn`t the greatest student my first time around but I`ve done a couple courses here and there in my adult life and was wayyyy more successful, with this revolving around photography I`m thinking that will give me some extra incentive!

Since you seem to have this whole learning thing figured out I may message you at some point to help me stay on task if that`s ok!?!?

Sorry, Pix, I didn't see this when you posted it, but yeah, absolutely, message me anytime you need it!
I also spent nearly a decade as a Print Production Manager, where my job was essentially to keep everyone else (editors, art directors, copy editors, researchers) on task and on schedule so the publications got finished on time, so I have some experience with helping people stay on task. Ironic, since I struggle with staying on task myself...

You'll do great, Pixie! I found that I am a much better student taking classes now than I was in college. I got good grades, but it was pretty easy so I didn't really have good study habits. When I went back to school, I found it much easier to be motivated. I bet you'll find the same kind of motivation. Things out in the "real world" are actually "real" to you now and this reminds you of why you are studying. It gives you a clear purpose, and suddenly doing homework doesn't seem to be so onerous anymore.

Got my business degree last year. Mostly online but a few classroom courses. I enjoyed both but the flexibility of the online classes was key for me. I was working full time and I'm a single mom so it was a juggling act. I have to say though, now that it's done, I miss it! I made some great friends and really learned so much more than I would have had I been able to go when I was younger. You'll be great I'm sure! Good luck and enjoy it.
