What's new

Going to start a home studio, where do I start?

Thanks, I will probably leave it unfinished. Just paint the concrete like you suggested. Thats a great idea. I can hang the fabric to span all the way to the window so I wont have light leak from outdoor. I am just not sure what lights to use for key and hair. What light to use for main. I assume I want to use all the same temperature.

Should I ask the obvious question? lol, Are people willing to be dragged into the corner of your basement for pictures?;) Having shot in very tight spaces before, it's possible, and done well you can't even tell you're in such a confined space. Along with the seamless, I would suggest that you invest in some flooring options to use with your backdrops, Lock-together laminates or bamboo flooring mats, that sort of thing. They're relatively cheap and with some painted trim, can look amazing. It's an easy way to diversify the looks you can offer without being cheesy. Good luck!

All the pretty models would not think twice to walk in to my house and into the basement.. come on now ;)

Has this studio project been completed?

I know there was turbulence, we exchanged a few messages that I had hoped were positive based on the circumstances. I'm sorry to hear this, he had a lot of energy. I hope things work out in time.

I exchanged some messages with him recently.. and he said he is just taking some time off from the forum, so he doesn't have to deal with the inane hostility from some people (inane was MY choice of words... not his)! :) I am hoping he will be back... I found his input and thoughts a lot more meaningful than some.....
