Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hit the lake today practicing for a big tournament. I let my partner drive so I could take some pics. What do you think? Ill be on the water all weekend so tips now will help me! This is Nickajack lake near Chattanooga, that is grass in/on the water. The fish bust through the grass mat to hit your bait, I tried for 30 minutes trying to capture that while my partner fished to no avail. Hope to get some great sunrise photos out there tomorrow. We will also be locking through the Dam, should have a good shot or 2 in there you would think.

Wait am I going fishing or taking photos?

I like #2 the best - but I think the ROT would apply here. The point between land and water is too close to the center for me. Better, in my opinion, to balance it at either 1/3 land/air and 2/3 reflection or vice versa.

I can see cropping the bottom of the first one but on the other two photos wouldn't that ruin the mirror look of the photos with the clouds? How would you crop them to make them look better. Feel free to edit them. This weekend was the first time I had ever heard of the rule of thirds

I like #2 but as already said, get the horizon line out of the vertical center of the photo. You want emphasis on the sky or the landscape... If you center it, emphasis is on neither.

I like #2 as it is. I really like how the lake reflects the sky. Sometimes rule of thirds doesn't have to be followed.

Yeah sure it does emphasise either the sky:

or the lake:

But I still like #2 as it is.

I like the picture crop for sky. I pass that area alot and it is real nice this time of year. I spend a lot of time on the water myself in a kayak. I'm just trying to get my canon on the water too. Good pics!

this is a beautiful place, fish here each may for bream.

the pictures look good to me also.

like 2 best.

only problem is that viewing these shoots in this size does not give it the justice they deserve.

Hey Cuzz, this is just for you. I took some pics today but it was very overcast. Ill post later. Caught some nice fish but didnt make weigh in due to a barge. Sick to my stomach. And for what its worth I like the rule of 3 with emph on the water up above. Thank you for taking the time to show me!

Someone straiten me out if I'm wrong, but i though if the water was an reflection of the sky the horizon SHOULD be in the center of the frame

I doubt the sky is the subject of this photo, the water (reflection) and the foilage adds more to photo in my opinion. If the top would have been cropped more, would still seem like a good photograph.

Here are a couple pics.
