This was our assignment for group 1 last week. This is my first attempt at a high key portrait. What you think?

She was lit from the top by the sun and from the bottom by my flash (on camera). I tried to match the sun light to the flash. I blew out the sky to have a white background.

with 17-55mm 2.8
Exposure: 0.02 sec (1/50)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 46 mm
ISO Speed: 400

Nice attempt, but I wouldn't really consider this high key. You need to raise the levels of your darks more to make the overall feel to the photo lighter, not just the ultra white background. Some things you could try: desaturate a bit, boost brightness and maybe dodge some areas. If you're working with a program that shows a live histogram, ultimately you will want most of your exposure to be right of middle grey with very little to the left. Hope this helps!
