Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
It was drug free week and she looked so cute with her pink hair and I'd not taken a picture in several weeks so we went out and had a blast!

1. I liked how the color and light turned out on this one! Unfortunately it was one of few that I liked the color and light.

2. I played with a few actions. I don't like how bleached the photo looks, so I'll probably re-edit this one. Good smile and eye connection, though.

3. This was actually an out take, but I kind of liked it. I am her mom, I know I have mommy goggles! She how she looks grey... Any suggestions on trying to fix that are welcome. Or what I could have done differently. Also detailed info on how to have it pop more would be appreciated. :)

4. Another one I liked except the foot chop and grey skin. I don't even mind the blown parts. :) Like I said, Mommy goggles.

5. I liked this one, too. I wish the picture was ... warmer or something. I'm not sure. Edits are welcome. I will also probably clone out at least that basketball goal. Still with the grey skin. Argh.

Anyhow, had a blast and learned a little more. I'm okay with that. ;)

why not edit them all like u did the first one? that one has nice natural warm tones to it...

#2 it looks like she's radioactive...

i like #3 the best in terms of pose and comp... but yea it's a bit washed out...

i do'nt mind the foot crop in #4... i think ppl tend to worry too much about not cropping body parts...

not sure if this is what you are looking for about more pop....

A lot of improvement compared to your last ones. All the eyes look sharper.

I can see SOMEONE has been working on their focus :)

Good job!

Editing, notsomuch lol. First edit was done nicely, then you went crazy editing woman on the others lol

ababy: That edit looks notsogood. Too much.

haha YES I know... but the hair and the grit.... guess I should have made that clear I was not going for a beauty edit.
I personally like the original. I think it looks great.

No I liked the edit on the first but my lighting was messed up in the other I guess... she was pretty washed out sooc. Ill have to post a sooc. Thanks guys.

I shoot in raw. I actually haven't changed anything about my focusing, but I HAVE been working on my lighting/exposure. Unfortunately! lol These aren't good examples. Most SOOC are overexposed. You'll see that here. lol They were all shot at f2.2 and ISO 200 with varying SS. 500-1000.

I always shoot in raw, sometimes it doesn't matter, it's too screwed to fix! Like I said, though, I've been working on the exposure more than the focus and I guess the focus is just kind of working it's way in there. Doesn't bother me, though, don't get me wrong. I welcome the compliments cause I am trying to improve here.
Keep in mind I'm totally admitting that these are over exposed or blown in spots or under exposed in spots, but if you can tell me what I should have done (with the equipment I have) or that I couldn't have done it without some other piece of equipment, it'd be appreciated. :)

ababy, ty for the edit, but yeah, I think that's a bit much. I was really talking about #3 as far as the popping, it looks so washed out from my edit.

I got CS3 (as a gift from my ex husband no less... weird right? :D ) and it's like learning all over again.

Here's the rest of the SOOC. I didn't sharpen them or anything. Just converted to JPEG

To avoid making the skin look blotchy, do selective sharpening, or sharpening with a mask. Here is a quick edit, although I think I may have gone too far with the red:
b3dsh7

If you like this edit, here is what was done:
- Duplicated the layer and sharpened
- applied a mask
- remove sharpening from skin and background
- (this step is done to unsharpen the background sharpening) Duplicate the background
- apply a low gaussian blur
- mask this layer
- remove the blur on the subject
- multiply a background in to deepen the tones
- in LR3, apply a hue shift on the skin to move it to a pinker tone (this is where I may have gone too red)
- in LR3 - lower the luminosity on the greens

These steps help with your pop because now you get a contrast in tone, focus and colour.

Thank you! :) I don't have LR3, so I guess I'll have to try to recreate those steps otherwise.
