Unedited besides a crop on the right side.

Soft box at 3/4 to right.
Bare at 3/4 to left.

Not bad, but I'd tone down the bare bulb a little and increase the soft-box just a bit.

Since I know next to nothing about studio lighting, I refrain from commenting on that.
Somehow this has the oversharpness of some HDR photos ...

This is definitely not an HDR, the only thing I did in photoshop was crop the right side a little bit.

Yeah I wasn't too happy with it either, I took the picture too tight on the left side so I decided cropping the right a little bit would make it look more even. I would have rather had more negative space on both sides as well.

Other then the tightness of the crop, I like this one a lot. Good angle, lighting, and sharpness. Nice!

I like your placement of the subject in the frame. Excellent use of negative space above and below.
