The Rufous Hummingbirds migrate from Mexico to Canada/Alaska to breed every spring and in early fall head back to Mexico... for about 5,000 miles round trip!
This year I’ve had Rufous stop by my place to refuel extra early and extra late than in past years.
This male Rufous came March 12th
And it has been non stop since then. Finally Slowed down a couple weeks ago, but one seems to be still hanging around… wonder if she decided to stay? They’ve never been here this late before.
This female is from yesterday
