You must have been very close to her when you shot.. about a foot or so... unless you cropped this a bit.

at that distance your DOF is almost non-existent... even at 3', it is only .19 of a foot deep

Notice the hair is sharp.. but the chin is OOF? You shot at a slight downward angle... and the plane of focus basically missed everything but her hair.The framing is very tight... normally chopping off the top of the head is not a good idea. No eye contact, so that seriously reduces the amount of interest the shot generates for the viewer.

I would toss it and shoot over.

Thanks for the input and I did shoot it pretty close and it was angled downward. The picture missed the top of her head. Well I guess her grandmother would like to take this picture. Back to the camera then.
