Im actually shooting in NEF RAW + JPEG fine. When i upload to my computer, i get two files..the RAW and JPEG. I assumed lightroom automatically chose the RAW file when i imported the entire folder, as it only imports one file each.

I don't think you're using the raw files I think you're opening the jpg's.
You need to check.
Why don't you move all of the jpg files out of the folder with the orange picture and and restart Lightroom.

ACR will ignore camera settings like Vivid and B&W in RAW images.
ACR can be setup to open RAW, JPG's, and TIF files.
