Help identifying a lens

Good evening, all! I recently acquired an older lens from work and I have no clue anything about it. Google is of no help and there is no company name. I'm hoping someone here can help!

Posted are pictures. However, the only identifying writing is "Japan Lens No. 4531844"

What's it say under the front lens cap?

I would guess it's an early vintage (80s?) zoom lens with a focal-length range of 18 to 108 mm and a fixed aperture of f2.5; as to what camera it fits, you'd need to show a photograph of the mount so it could be identified.

Try doing a search for "18-108 f2.5 lens" and see if you can match yours to a photo

The focal length range & fast aperture definitely point to c mount.
I guess @BrentC has nailed it.
c-mount lenses can be used on many mirrorless bodies, but will tend to vignette badly. Most lenses with focal lengths below 25mm vignette even on the small sensor of micro four thirds.
