Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
HI ALL, I OWN A SONY F828. I'VE HAD IT FOR LIKE 7 YEARS NOW AND KNOW ITS OLD BUT FOR WHAT I NEED AND USE IT ITS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. I DON'T REALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY AND AM NOT LOOKING TO TAKE IT ON PROFESSIONALLY EITHER SO PLEASE DO NOT USE COMPLICATED/SOPHISTICATED WORDS PLEASE.

WELL MY PROBLEM IS AS FOLLOWS, I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 3.5X TELEPHOTO LENS BUT WHEN I TAKE PHOTOS WITH IT I GET A TUNNEL EFFECT. SAME THING HAPPENS WITH THE WIDE ANGLE LENS. ON THE INSTRUCTIONS IT SAYS THAT I NEED TO SET MY CAMERA TO FULL WIDE ANGLE MODE AND FULL TELEPHOTO MODE. TO BE HONEST I DO NOT HAVE A CLUDE WHAT THIS MEANS AND HOW TO SET IT AND I HAVE GONE THROUGH THE CAMERA MANUAL AND CAN'T FIND ANYTHING EITHER AND WAS WONDERING IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME OR ADVICE ME ON WHAT I HAVE TO DO.

I HAVE SOME PHOTOS WHICH I CAN SEND SO THAT YOU CAN SEE WHAT MY PROBLEM IS BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD THEM HERE

Ok, you do know that your camera lens will zoom in and out? It operates like a SLR lens in the fact you have to turn a ring on the lens to do this. There are makrings on the lens that is 28 on the left side going to 200 on the right (other numbers in between). 28mm is wide angle. So when you put on your wide angle adaptor you should have your lens set to 28mm. Now 200mm is your telephoto setting. When you put on your telephoto adaptor (the 3.5x one). You should have your lens set at the 200mm setting.

Now deppending on what wide angle and telephoto adaptors you purchased. They may not completely work with your camera. Most are genericly made to fit an attachment size, and are not made to fit a specific camera. But first try to change your lens settings first. And see if that helps.

Edit: I just re-read your problem. I now know that the accessory lens adaptors are not made by Sony. You bought some from other company and their directions are generic. You camera does not have TELEPHOTO OR WIDE ANGLE MODE. That is for cameras that have electric zooming (control) of the lens. Your lens is like a regular camera lens. You have to turn it yourself. So what you need to do is like I said above, turn your lens to its wide angle setting (28) for the wide angle adaptor. If you want to use the telephoto, then turn your lens to the (200). Just ignor the reference to MODE in the attachment instructions.

What this means is the adaptors that you bought dont work well with your camera. They were not designed to work with your lens. Just made to fit any lens with your attachment size. Basically the lens your adding to the front is blocking the view of your lens on your camera. If you cannot use any of the pictures from them. Then I suggest you send the attachments back.

I will say in most cases when you buy these attachments, they are of poor quality and design. At least the generic ones. They are not designed to work with any specific camera. Now some camera manufacturers do make specific attachments for their cameras designed like yours. These will work with the cameras they are designed for. I am not sure about your camera. But I would look for attachemnts made for your specific camera (if they make any). And don't get confused by your camera name listed by the attachemnt description. You would need a SONY attachment made for F828 (if they are made). Not a generic brand one that says FITS F828. Big difference.
