Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey everyone, So i am wondering if anyone can help me with this picture. Can you tell me how i could have positioned myself better, or positioned them better so that i wouldn't get the shadows on their faces??? Thanks!

Next time just move the big light.

Shooting in direct sunlight is a no no. If you move them so the light is behind you, they have to squint or your shadow falls on them.

What you do is put them in open shade and use the sky as your main light. In other words, you need to study the basics of photographic lighting.

At this time of day it would have been difficult to do much without supplemental light image left. My suggestion would have been a diffuse, off-camera strobe at eye level (theirs) 45-60 degrees to your left. Failing that, a large reflector would have helped. Additionally I would suggest moving back so that you had all of the feet and all of the legs in the image.

From my understanding, shadows are wanted to a degree to show depth and detail of the faces. You should take more than one shot. I like to get atleast 10-20 shots of the same thing. That way you can choose the best to work with.

A free photo editing program like Picasa will allow you to bring the lighting to a degree, so try that.

Also, real important: Try useing the flash next time. The flash will light up the shadows so they will appear less pronounced.

As you can see I am new here aswell, so wait for a pro to swing by with more help.

The whole picture needs to be scrapped. They are squinting the sun was so bright and the little girl on the front has her legs wide open which she shouldn't. You needed to put them in shade with some fill flash. But the sun is blowing out all their skin so you can't even save that in photo shop. Sorry for the negative comments.
