im sorry to contradict what the previous posts have said, but to me this butterfly looks like a rather heavy crop and the focus is not quite right on it, please don't take that as harsh but thats what it looks like to me.

it would of been nice to see this as a landscape and get a bit of its environment in the shot as well.

Its was a very heavy crop. Not a whole lot ya can do about it. Pretty sharp for such a large crop. ;-) I shot it at 2.8 so Naturally some of it would be oof

Here is a diff shot of him, but I noticed too late his face was hidden....but I like the wings on this one better.

The first one is great Pallycow.

much prefer the second photo as to the first even with the face covered, can i ask what the reason for shooting a butterfly in f2.8 would be??

No reason other than I could. I had borrowed a 70-200 f/208 for the trip and that day I shot all day at 2.8 just to see the differences and effects and that sort of thing. Really just random screwing around shooting as I walked around. I normally use a 70-300 f/4.5/5.6 and I know how those come out, so I used this to see the difference.

thats fair enough cant really argue with a reason like that haha
