In my opinion the most part of the pictures have too much halos. I would also like to say that the third picture is nice, but a little bit flat, so I would recommend you to do some sharpening and reupload the result, because I think it would become very nice. Try to open that image, duplicate it, and than go to filter - sharpen - unsharp mask, and keep the threshold at 0 at play with the other sliders. Cause I guess it will make the image pop, but that's just a guess.

But in general I think the best picture is number 7

A little (maybe a lot) overcooked! IMO, of course!

thanks for the comments.. some of the pics were just run through photomatix without any major altering.. i will have a play about with them more but beginning to get back in to photography... having done normal slr shooting and developing in black and white many years ago... will need to get a better camera though eventually...

finding the hdr side of it very interesting though.

The composition in most of these is great. You definitely have the right idea when it comes to seeing the shot, but your processing is waaaaaayyyyy over done! Part of the skill of post-processing is learning when to stop!

I sometimes look back at some of my old photos and can't believe I thought some of them looked good!

The images for the most part are fine it is the processing that is bad....the train for example is a nice subject and composition but the effect killed it.. I hope you did not edit the originals and can rethink them

I love the motorcycle shots, although I think the backgrounds are too busy.

aww thanx everyone you are all real nice... i dont mind negative and positive thats what its all about;... yeah i have all the originals... the train one is a real low quality pic any way... its an old shot that someone sent me... looking forward to taking loads of motorbike shots when the weather gets better. i have 3 different bikes, so plenty for me to practise on.. as for the hdr ... it probably is the case everyone goes a bit mad at first then clams it down and uses it to enhance the overall pics...

i will keep on practising... hope you can all help me...

heres a few more i took yesterday... shame about the litter on the one shot.. but there we are.. at least they are the original.. and not edited out...

This last photo is so cool. But please remove the blue bottle of the floor.

not being any sort of expert at photography, what is the opinion of shadows in a photo should they be there or not... ??

as the last shot has some shadows of the rear / front wheel... i did try to edit them out at one stage, but it looked as though the rear wheel was in the air...

Shadows are simply another aspect of light and, as such, are perfectly fine. However, just as with light, what's important is how you use them...

when you say how to use them what do you mean... can you give some examples...?
