I iz sharin :)

All photos taken at f/8, 1/25 shutter speed :) Enjoyyy :)

Used a beauty dish to camera right, down low, and right at the edge of the seamless. Had one umbrella on each side of the background so that the light reflected back onto the background...

Here's the results :)

The only thing that I ask you to ignore is the lack of smiles. She is a very special needs baby and (put the easy way) lacks the ability to smile even when mommy is doing ridiculously silly things like building a block tower on my head...

ETA: This was my first time ever doing high key in the studio :)

Cute :) Is there anything you can do about the dirty floor in the second picture?

These are great shots.

But technically, they are not high key. They are more high contrast. High key is having nothing in the image darker than mid-tone. Blacks certainly don't fall into that category.

Just sayin'

Sarah: Your stuff has come a long way since the last I saw it. Good stuff..second shot is priceless. :)

Just one thing why 1/25 or should that read 1/125 your best not to go below 1/60 with flash or you may get ambient light in the shot

Just sayin' K.... :) LOL

The background is what is supposed to be high key for my assignment so maybe I was a little misleading with the title. :)

Thanks chammer :) I appreciate it :)

Gary, in all of our portraiture assignments for the class we are supposed to shoot at 1/25 and f/8. There was no ambient light in the room. Was all dark except for the modeling lights on the strobes.

The second shot is adorable, and I'm pretty sure that's a coy little smile. :) The composition is a little off -- the basket either needs to be perfectly centered or completely off-center. I would reflect some light back behind the basket to soften those shadows.

Very true Sarah!! Nice job!!

Thanks Mish :)

Thanks Brenda. I will adjust that when I get home. I'm at school right now and don't have the originals with me to play with and I can't download anything at school. Our college is very picky since we've had some computer attacks lately... Ridiculous that people are that (insert rude word here) that they have to attack a college's computers and ruin things for students!
