I've always been leary about the attachment, afraid it is a press fit in metal bodies.
Hence I stay away from any slings etc that pull on the tripod fitting.
I used a L bracket specifically to keep from screwing and unscrewing quick release plates.

Looks like it will work, but it is built for a grip. Are you planning on getting a grip as well? Interesting concept as long as the sliding rail is strong and stable.
