Holiday meal

LOL that's even worse!!! Fish jelly!!! Oh man that makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. :D
 
Hmm... Traditionally I used to have stuffed grape leaves with fresh polenta and sour cream topping (to die for...), roast turkey, pork sausages and, are you ready for this???... a dish called 'piftie' which is made from pig hocks, tails and ears boiled for a long time in water with verggies and lots o' garlic. Then the entire content of this boil goes into deep bowls and gets refrigerated so it turns into a jelly like dish with chunks of meat. While it really sounds horrible, the taste is quite appealing. Now, for the texture... :lol:

Anyway, tradition also dictates that we party from about 9pm until the wee hours of the morning, after which we eat soured chicken soup, which is a good cure for hangovers (I know, another thread...)

After that, comes lunch time, repeat everything from the beginning!!

Oh, I forgot, there are a lot of desserts, wines and coffee going around.
