So I figured out an estimate of what it costs me to print. I found an online article that determined the average amount of INK used per photo size for the Canon Prograf-1100 printer. Then worked that back against my price for the ink. Then also factored in what high quality paper from Red River is costing me per and below is my best estimate. I thought a few on here might find this interesting. Keep in mind the Prograf-1100 has larger ink cartridges which overall lowers the ink costs aprox 40% in comparison to say the Canon pro-200 etc. You could also lower your paper costs by aprox 25% by using cheaper brands which suffice for most people.
Now obviously there are additional costs like scrapped attempts, lost INK when the printer runs a maintenance cycle etc but at least you have an idea of the overall cost per print. I have included the Canadian cost and U.S cost estimates.
Again for me I really don't care what it costs but if I ever wanted to sell a few photos at least I have an idea of my cost per print.
