Who didn't guess this was about owls? Mistakes were made on the parent ... high ISO @ 8000 but even so I think they still look halfway decent. Nuff said.

These are really nice, great subject and good light. I think maybe a little too much noise reduction and I think the 3 shots of the chick could do with having the white and black point set. The last in particular lacks a little contrast.

Thank you, everyone for the comments and suggestions. @weepete I was shooting for a soft appearance because of it's soft, fuzzy feathers and that warm light. I looked at it with darker blacks and more contrast but it took away from the appearance I wanted. As far as the noise reduction I have a habit of keeping the luminance at the same level for all pics when I don't need to, slipped my mind. I'll keep your suggestions in mind for future pics. Great! These are really good and glad you found an owl. I live next to a 10 acre forest and have only seen one owl in 17 years! I swear this forest is void of wildlife.
