I need some advice from you all. I am trying to shoot this room. The ceiling in it is wood with a pretty glossy finish to it. The lights reflect like crazy and I am not sure how to fight this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I will put the camera on a tripod. Take photos with multiple exposure (Bracket the shots). And then combine the shots during post production. You may not need to use HDR/Tone mapping. Just put the images in different layers and use Layer Mask with paint tool.

For example: Photoshop Elements: Merge Two Images With a Layer Mask

What is the purpose of your shoot? If you are just trying to illustrate what the room looks like, what you've posted appears to do that very well. The lights and parts of the reflections are white or near white, but they wouldn't look real otherwise. If you are going to shoot an event in this room, does the ceiling really have to be in the shot?

Don't forget to look for the easy solution; many commercial halls like this have their lights on dimmer switches!

Another tool that is used to reduce reflections is a polarizing filter.

You might also consider getting the camera higher.

You could make the room look bigger if you shoot corner-to-corner.

This is just an example, I am going to shoot the room in many angles. It isn't going to be for an event. It is new construction and I need to shoot it for the customer. The lights aren't on dimmer switches.

Tomorrow I am going to try and shoot the room with lights exposed and then shoot it with the room exposed and try merging the two or should I say bracketing of sorts??

Thanks for the suggestions. Any more keep them coming please.
