Hello :) im new to this forum and havent found a better section so im posting it in this one. Im sorry if im doing something wrong.
I want to make a cover for my bands new album and we would like to shoot something like this:
Instagram
But we have no clue how a light bulb should reflects our selfes.. Can anyone from the pros help me?
Thank you very very much :)

Try an Xmas tree ornament and practice raising just one eyebrow.

You can get light bulbs that have silvered sections of the bulb. The bulb in the photo is likely one of those kind where the "bottom" half of the bulb that goes into the socket is normal and then the top rounded part is silvered, which causes the reflection.

It could also be edited and The_Traveler's method might be more tricky editing wise - however done well it would potentially give you a clearer higher res version than a selfie with a camera might (the selfie might not be hard to take once you get the angles right, but you could find its very hard to get the clarity of the subject in the curved surface to look right).

If you want to send me a high resolution shot of your band, I'll try wrapping it around a globe of your choice.
WOW Thats very kind :) i will send you a message in the next days sir :)

Thanks to everyone else too! i will meet my band in the next days and we will try to make a picture :)

Go out for a walk today and there was a silver ornament hanging on my neighbor's fence. Now if only I had an Instagram account.

It's just a christmas ornament.

Get a camera. Stand in a group near it, looking at the ornament. The guy in front in the middle holds the camera and points it at the ornament. Use a small aperture for lots of depth of field, adjust other parameters as necessary. Press the button.

And, given that it's a mirror (as per Hamlet's thread), it probably now has an infinite DOF. Joe, did you license the rights from Sparky? I think he was patenting the idea.

My mirror will be flat. This is a curved mirror. Not only will it have infinite DOF, but it will distort the space/time continuum, and make owning a Delorean unnecessary for time travel. :lmao:

No, but I was certainly feeling some kind of continuum distortion going on there. Sparky is pretty close to me up there in Iowa, I won't try that again; it might open up some kind of Sparky worm hole and suck me in.
