You're drinking a little too early today my friend. I don't care if you give it to them let them, just say you didn't do it if the photographer gets mad. But I'm telling you about that specific part. Don't go around posting people's stuff on your website and get in trouble.

Give it to them, but dont leave evidence of your work. So you can't get in trouble for it

Actually I do know that image. If memory serves me correctly a lawsuit was brought against the "PS artist". I don't know the outcome of the lawsuit however.

It may have fallen under a fair use clause as it was already a public image. Not sure though.

Yes, Shepard Fairey got in trouble with the AP for the Obama HOPE Poster, and then the AP got sued by the original photographer, who said that AP didn't own the copyright, he did. In that case, the original photographer of the image, Mannie Garcia was an ardent Obama supporter, and most likely would have been pleased if Fairey had reached out to him.
I say reach out to this photographer-if they instantly go on the defensive, they probably aren't really fit to be a wedding photographer-part of being a photographer is knowing that you don't know everything and always wanting to improve. Who knows, maybe he or she will turn out to be a cool person and you'll make a friend!

See bitter.. here we go again.. you are attacking me again. Yes the photographer took bad photos. That's what the couple said and my friend said. I didnt make it up. They dont have one single frameable photo. All the staged photos are little OOF and grainy (indoor wedding). It is one of those deal where they the photog take photos and give her all the high resolution. By looking at the pixel sizes, none has been cropped (and not touched). And yes they paid money for the photography service. I dont understand why you keep attacking me like this.

Yes.. im concentrating on how good my photshopping skill is.

It's not an attack, just an observation of a recuring theme.

Well, then your portfolio will show that with examples of images you took showing the before and after. Your portfolio is your sales tool to show your work, not how bad every other photographer in town is.

I would just let it go in regards to that pic.

Simply take a another pic, have a friend pose. Do a 'bad' pic, then edit it. The point is to show your editing skills.
OR
look at friends photos and ASK them if you can edit it, if and only if they approve, then edit and show them one last time then only place on web.

Try looking at this from a different perspective...

You take some shots at a function. You think they are pretty good. A friend of the people you have shot tells them it is a horrible photo. He then alters it and posts this online.
You find out about it....the shoe is on the other foot, how would you respond to this?
