I found out how... he commented on one of his own photos:

His words:
"thanks, the basic idea is to lower the color temperature while do a split tone on the highlight to keep the highlight warm."

"actually I just use very basic techniques, using white balance to find the tone and desaturate it, a lot. I just use Light room and this one probably took me 5-10 minutes (most of which trying what style I want)."

He uses:
"Canon 5D + Canon 35mm/1.4 + a little bit Lightroom post processing "

That is how he got the effect from the girl in the 2nd pic.

Whatever lens he's using captures incredible sharpness and depth of field.
