How do you feel about this heavy grain added?

i like a grainy photo (everyones so obsessed with getting the cleanest/sharpest image these days) but it looks better with film than digital.

Making grain on a digital image look natural can be difficult. what technique did you use to get the grain in this image?

I agree, it does look better when using film.

I used the filter on CS3 to add grain, and just messed with the sliders until I overdid it JUST enough (in my opinion, of course )

it looks ok, but it's hard to tell on the small photo.

the way i like to do it is create a new layer and fill it with 50% grey, then add the film grain filter to it, then change the layer to Soft Light and mess with the opacity. Give it a try and see if you like it
