What's new

How do you know you are doing the right thing?

I'm new to photography myself but my take on it is that some things work better than others and learning how and what to do is the biggest challenge to figure out what you want your end result to be. What we have in mind and what is produced may be two different things so we need to learn how to get the results we are happy with. You may like adjustments and edits that others do but figure out what it is about photos that you like and dislike.

To me this is what makes so many photographers different as we each develop our own shooting style and personality, some will like you and others may not but there is always something to learn...

"I guess I will take a stab at it.

1. Road in bottom and power line in upper right
2. Rule of thirds, horizon looks like it on the bottom 1/4
3. Way too much blank sky, grass. Needed to move closer to the subject, leading to...
4. What is the subject? The silos, building on top of them, vegetation growing on them?

Just what I see with my limited knowledge. "

You're thinking in terms of composition. Change gears and think in terms of technical quality. I said the camera screwed it up. It what ways could the camera screw up a photo that the photographer may not be able to control?
